Transforming your employee experience through Employee Self-Service

Kevin Dauhoo

The pandemic has made work from anywhere the new norm. It is important for companies to provide the same employee experience to employees working from the office and those working remotely. Employees working remotely should have access to the same online HR services as their colleagues in the office. As such, it has become, more important than ever, for HR professionals to include Employee self-service (ESS) as part of their people strategy.

Employee Self Service (ESS) is a technology that allows employees to manage their leave requests, access their payslips, update their personal details and view their employment records. It is available from anywhere and can be accessed using a desktop, tablet, or smartphone.

During the recent TaMIS Webinar, a majority of HR professionals indicated that their employees are willing to use a mobile app for leave applications and view their payslips. This can enable employees to send their HR related requests quicker within a few easy steps. Those requests are automatically escalated for approval, and the system automatically updates leave balance. This automated process gives HR professionals more time to focus on HR strategic planning and decision making rather than administrative tasks.

The primary purpose of implementing ESS is to maximize efficiency and optimize HR related processes. Integrating ESS into your business model helps to eliminate paper-based processes. TaMIS HR provides a rich Employee Self Service functionality that allows secured access to HR services directly on their smartphones.
